[The feed clicks on to show David, wearing his usual gray uniform, standing near the pool table on level six. He's holding a nail and studying it a bit before he says anything, turning it over and over again in his fingers before looking up and smiling politely at the camera, in that usual polite but definitely vaguely creepy way everyone should be accustomed to at this point.]

A colleague [More or less, although he doubted Holloway thought of him as such. He had always seemed to treat him as a child, or a tool, and one usually didn't consider either such things colleagues.] of mine and I once had a conversation about how far one was willing to go to get their answers. It is my understanding that most of you are here for something less abstract, but nevertheless just as hopefully satisfactory, often at extreme personal cost and risk.

So I would like to pose the same question to you, wardens: how far are you willing to go, to get what you came all this way for? What would you be willing to do?

[After his chat with Pietro, David really did not know how to process it. At all. And while admittedly, there are potentially better people to talk to about this, the very confused robot is turning to someone he more or less respects and probably understands how fucking weird this whole thing is.]

May I have a word with you? [He doesn't exactly sound shaken, but. He certainly sounds less cool than he usually does.]

[He almost doesn't notice the difference, but it gives him pause at the last moment, a barest hesitation after he's clicked on his feed.]

What is it?

[David just turns the communicator so Erik can get a view of the wrap around view screen behind him. Instead of showing some natural setting or a movie like usual, David's called up a film and paused it on an image of this fellow, who looks shockingly like someone he just had a very strange, kind of uncomfortable conversation with.]

Is it possible that they're related?

[Well. He knows that much so far. B(]

Unlikely. There is no record of any relative with the last name of "Lensherr", and there is certainly no evidence for "mutants", as you call yourselves in my world's history.

[Well that's. Semi disappointing, why don't mutants exist everywhere B( But also cheering because at least David isn't a creepy descendent or anything. Erik nods once, considering.]

Then it's happenstance. Some perverse correlation between worlds.

[He still looks like you and was created by a guy who looks like your son, that's pretty fucking weird.]

It's [What's the word for it.] quite unsettling.

Can you be unsettled? [That's probably not fair B(] It's verging on alarming. [And a quiet snort.] Maybe appearances have universal constants as well.

One would think that in all the intricacies of human evolution, an exact match should be unheard of, let alone this common.

There are only so many genetic combinations possible, but I agree.

Then again, it isn't an exact match. [He gestures toward the picture behind David.] The hair.

Agreed. I do wonder if this happens naturally, or if the Admiral has a hand in it.

[David is quiet for a moment before saying anything, considering. He's just really not sure how to process anything about this, and so he falls back on his usual polite, distant demeanor.]

[It's a lot to consider; Erik doesn't like it much at all, but he's at least had time to get used to there being other Eriks out there. What does it matter, if men share faces instead of identities too?]

[He knows, and he's not sure how he wants to answer, sort of. But he can't really lie when directly asked a question like that, so.]

Not particularly.

Why? [If he cared a little more, maybe he'd tell David he didn't have to answer - but Erik wants an answer.]

[It's not something he's ever been asked before, and he's not really sure how to articulate it. He could just parrot what he said to Shaw, but that doesn't seem right.]

He created me to blend in seamlessly with my human counterparts, but treated me as a possession.

[He knows the first part, and hates it. This blond haired copy of himself could blend in better than him. It's disgusting to him.

But there's more, and his lips thin into a line.]

He made you too human.

Yes.

[And he hates it. He's too human, and not human enough, and he feels like that makes him something better, but no one's ever acknowledged it.]

So what do you want? In regards to him. [He wanted to kill Shaw. He wonders if that's what David wants, too.]

I wanted him dead.

[And that is definitely past tense for a reason. B(]
